Dietitian will take a diet history and explore your child’s food likes and dislikes, as well as feeding dynamics and your family’s mealtime routine.
Dietitian will provide a written summary of recommendations based on your main concerns and their assessment of your child’s nutrition.

Extended Health Insurance Coverage
Many extended health care plans cover Registered Dietitian services. Contact your extended health care provider to see if they cover these services or if your plan includes an “expense account” that can be used to cover services from registered health care providers.
We can offer direct billing to some insurance providers, however, we will provide you with a receipt after each visit that can be submitted to your provider for reimbursement. Dietitian services may also be claimed as a medical expense on your income tax.
We also accept Autism Funding (AFU) for children aged 6 to 18. Let us know if you’d like to use your child’s autism account so we can prepare the necessary forms.
At Granville Pediatrics we recognize that not everyone has extended health benefits or the resources available to cover the cost of private Dietitian services. To ensure fees are not a barrier to families accessing support from a Registered Dietitian, I am pleased to offer select services on a sliding scale. Please contact me to enquire as decisions are made on an individual, and situation-specific basis.
Your child may be eligible for funding grants to help cover the cost of Registered Dietitian services. Individual grants are available from CKNW Kids’ Fund and Variety Children’s Charity, visit their website for details and application forms.
A referral is not required though can sometimes be helpful. If your family doctor or pediatrician would like to send your child’s growth history, blood work results or recent consult notes, please have them fax it to our office.
I strive to provide nutrition advice that meets your family’s unique needs and will do my best to offer appointment times that work with your schedule. Your appointment time is reserved just for you! Missed appointments and frequent cancellations makes it challenging for me to provide quality service and offer flexible appointment times.
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please call or email at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations or missed appointments with less than 24 hours’ notice will result in a charge of 50% of the appointment fee.
